PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the Company’s Government Affairs program.
- Develop and implement strategies to advance the Company’s legislative and regulatory priorities in New York, Pennsylvania, and at the federal level.
- Serve as the primary liaison with elected officials, government agencies, and community leaders.
- Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting the Company and the energy industry.
- Advocate for Company positions through direct engagement, testimony, and participation in hearings and stakeholder meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, industry associations, and community organizations.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment of government affairs strategies with business objectives.
- Manage external consultants, lobbyists, and trade association relationships.
- Represent the Company at public events, community meetings, and industry forums.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for senior leadership on legislative and regulatory matters.
- Ensure compliance with all lobbying and ethics laws and reporting requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, or related roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local, state and federal legislative and regulatory processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and external stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for frequent travel (including time away from home), and evening/weekend events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Public Administration, Law, or related field).
- Prior experience in the energy or utility sector.
- Managerial or leadership experience overseeing teams or external consultants.
- Significant experience in government and external affairs for a utility or private company, or in government, politics, lobbying, or community affairs.
- Established network of contacts within local / state / federal governments and regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with federal energy policy and regulatory frameworks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 – $175,000.

The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
