PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help to define then execute the organization’s application development strategy, aligning with business objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing application development team, driving business value and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Champion agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) to accelerate software delivery and enhance responsiveness to business needs.
- Utilize low-code/no-code development tools to accelerate solution delivery and empower business users.
- Lead API integration strategy to enable seamless connectivity between enterprise systems, third-party services, and emerging technologies.
- Direct the use of AI-driven software development, leveraging machine learning and intelligent automation to enhance application capabilities.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, when necessary, with full-stack development experience across front-end, back-end, and cloud-native architectures.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring accountability for deliverables, SLAs, and long-term partnership success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, information security, infrastructure, and business leaders, to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
- Effectively communicate complex technical topics to executives and non-technical stakeholders, driving alignment and support for technology investments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing large technology teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field
- Proven expertise in agile methodologies, including hands-on experience with Scrum and Kanban.
- Proficiency in low-code/no-code development tools (e.g. OutSystems, Mendix, Microsoft Power Platform).
- Deep understanding of API integration design, microservices architecture, and cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Full-stack development proficiency in modern technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, .NET, Node.js, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with AI-driven development tools like GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or OpenAI Codex.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical teams and non-technical executive stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with enterprise software platforms such as SAP, PeopleSoft or ServiceNow.
- Experience in AI-driven development, leveraging machine learning, automation, and AI-assisted coding tools.
- Cloud-native development understanding, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.
- Experience working in highly regulated industries such as utilities, finance, or healthcare.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The base salary for this position is $160,000 – $176,000.
This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of pay that National Fuel believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job. The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
