PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Corporate Communications Program Manager will develop and execute communications strategies that support business priorities, strengthen National Fuel’s reputation and build meaningful relationships with employees, media, community partners and other key stakeholders. This role requires an experienced communications professional who can provide strategic counsel, manage high-visibility communications and operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include:
- Strategic Communications: Develop and implement integrated communications strategies aligned with corporate priorities, external market conditions and reputational considerations.
- Advise senior leadership on messaging, positioning, executive communications, issues management and reputational risk.
- Media Relations: Serve as a primary media contact and spokesperson, managing proactive and reactive media engagement, news releases, media advisories and crisis communications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Dayton-area, regional and state media outlets, while monitoring coverage and identifying opportunities to enhance the Company’s public profile.
- Community Relations and Corporate Philanthropy: Lead community engagement strategy, including relationships with community leaders, nonprofit organizations and civic stakeholders.
- Oversee corporate giving, sponsorships, volunteerism and philanthropic initiatives to support business objectives and community impact goals.
- Internal Communications and Employee Engagement: Develop internal communications strategies, campaigns and channels that keep employees informed, connected and aligned with corporate values.
- Partner with HR and leadership to support culture-building, organizational change initiatives, workplace giving and employee engagement programs.
- Program Development and Execution: Manage multiple communications projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, objectives and stakeholder expectations are met.
- Establish metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate effectiveness and continuously improve communications and engagement efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
- 7–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related field
- Demonstrated proven track record of successful communications strategy development and execution
- Strong, established network of media contacts and community relationships
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling messaging
- Highly organized multi-tasker with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Experience in program development and execution, including community and employee engagement initiatives
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction
- Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment and manage sensitive or high-stakes situations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The base salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000.

The specific base pay offered to a successful applicant will be based primarily on relevant professional experience. Other components that may be considered include: individual qualifications, licensures, industry specific experience, education and market demands for specialized skills. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. Exempt positions will also be eligible for an Annual Cash Bonus Plan.
