Firm Transportation Service (FT)

Empire is well situated to provide transportation of Appalachian shale gas supply as well as western Canadian gas received at Chippawa. Empire’s location gives it the opportunity to be a key transporter in the North American pipeline grid. Empire’s Firm Transportation (FT) service will reliably move gas supplies to several on-system LDCs located throughout upstate New York and to growing U.S. and Canadian markets via interconnections with several major interstate pipelines including Millennium, TC Energy, Tennessee Gas and National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation. These interconnections provide shippers with access to storage services as well.

Shippers that contract for Empire’s FT service will be able to customize their service by choosing from a number of primary receipt and delivery points. All receipt and delivery points are also available on a secondary basis, providing the shipper with added flexibility. Shippers also have the ability to mitigate reservation costs by releasing capacity to others either in whole or in part on a temporary or permanent basis. Open access transportation is available to all qualified shippers on a firm basis. New facilities can be constructed if necessary and if economically feasible.

Interruptible Transportation Service (IT)

Empire Pipeline is well situated to provide transportation of Appalachian shale gas supply as well as western Canadian gas received at Chippawa. Empire’s location gives it the opportunity to be a key transporter in the North American pipeline grid. When pipeline capacity is available, Empire Pipeline’s Interruptible Transportation (IT) service can provide shippers with an economical means to move such gas supplies to several on-system LDCs located throughout upstate New York and to growing U.S. and Canadian markets via interconnections with several major interstate pipelines including Millennium, TC Energy, Tennessee Gas and National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation. These provide shippers with access to storage services, as well.

Shippers that contract for Empire Pipeline’s IT service will be able to customize their delivery by choosing from all of Empire’s receipt and delivery points.

Features of Empire’s IT Service include:

  • Open-access interruptible transportation service where capacity is available
  • Both long-term and short-term agreements are available
  • Discounted rates can be negotiated to optimize deliveries, including backhauls
  • Direct connection access to upstate New York LDC systems
  • Access to several major interstate pipelines serving growing markets
  • Diversity of supply sources including Marcellus Shale and Canadian gas
  • Back-haul services can allow for a creative response to changing markets
  • Seasonal rates are available to assist in the management of cash flow

Firm Transportation No-Notice (FTNN)

Empire Pipeline is well situated to provide transportation of Appalachian shale gas supply as well as western Canadian gas received at Chippawa. Empire’s location gives it the opportunity to be a key transporter in the North American pipeline grid. Empire Pipeline’s Firm Transportation No-Notice (FTNN) service will reliably move gas supplies to several on-system LDCs located throughout upstate New York and to growing U.S. and Canadian markets via interconnections with several major interstate pipelines including Millennium, TC Energy, Tennessee Gas and National Fuel Gas Supply Corporation. These provide shippers with access to storage services, as well.

Shippers that contract for Empire Pipeline’s FTNN service will be able to customize their reliable delivery by choosing from a number of primary receipt and delivery points. All receipt and delivery points are also available on a secondary basis, providing the shipper with added flexibility. Shippers also have the ability to mitigate reservation costs by releasing their unneeded capacity to others either in whole or in part on a temporary or permanent basis.

Features of Empire’s FTNN Service include:

  • Open-access firm transportation service
  • Firm transportation is available for storage injection and withdrawals
  • Includes no-notice adjustments of scheduled quantities from the customers’ storage balance
  • Both long-term and short-term agreements are available
  • Flexible scheduling utilizing primary and/or secondary points
  • Direct connection access to upstate New York LDC systems
  • Access to several major interstate pipelines serving growing markets
  • Storage access via interconnections with several interstate pipelines
  • Diversity of supply, including Marcellus/Utica Shale and Canadian gas
  • Capacity may be released to qualified bidders on a prearranged basis and/or by posting for bid
