As we announced in 2025, National Fuel entered into a definitive agreement with CenterPoint Energy Resources Corp., a subsidiary of CenterPoint Energy, Inc., to acquire its Ohio natural gas distribution business.

Until the sale is finalized, nothing changes for you. You will continue to receive your natural gas service from CenterPoint Energy. It is expected that the purchase of this business segment will close during fall 2026.

Overall Impacts Once the Sale is Approved

• Your safety remains our top priority. Emergency response and safety procedures will remain in place with the same high standards you expect.
• Your natural gas service will continue without interruption.
• Your meter, pipelines and service appointments will continue to be managed by qualified and trained technicians who live and work in your community.
• Your account will automatically transfer to National Fuel — there is nothing you need to do. More information will be shared with you once the sale is finalized.
• Your rates will continue to be regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Ohio.

National Fuel and CenterPoint will continue to coordinate closely throughout the transition period, and you can continue to contact CenterPoint for all customer service needs, billing questions and emergency response until the transaction is finalized. After the sale is complete, National Fuel will not be making immediate changes to your account, billing options and customer support resources. CenterPoint will continue to provide some transactional services to National Fuel Ohio customers for a period of time, including processing of payments through your CenterPoint online account.
