Job Responsibilities
The Corporate Development & Reservoir Engineer will serve as an integral member of the Reservoir & Corporate Development team, work closely with Strategic Planning as well as regularly consult with other groups across the Company. This position comes with a broad view of all aspects of Seneca’s operations, financial performance and strategic direction. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Work both independently and collaboratively within the Reservoir and Corporate Development team.
- Evaluate and optimize both developed and developing assets across Seneca’s areas of operations.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis to aid in and facilitate in commercial business decisions.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to evaluate acquisition opportunities, potential divestitures and new venture opportunities.
- Work with geologists and sub-surface multi-disciplinary teams to effectively develop the assets assigned, including numerical and analytical models, well spacing and reservoir analysis.
- Prepare forecasts for production, expenses, capital, and product pricing.
- Work collaboratively with the Strategic Planning group and executive management to assist in the review and execution of various corporate development and funding opportunities.
- Participate in various corporate planning evaluations including forecasting, development of the five-year strategic plan, economic sensitivities, project return ranking, appraisal program economics and budget related activities.
- Work with the Strategic Planning group to prepare pro-forma financials for acquisition opportunities that pass initial screens.
- Assist in preparation of presentations and reports to senior Company executives, the Board of Directors, Rating Agencies and Wall Street community.
- Assist in the coordination and maintenance of operational timing and financial assumptions across Seneca’s departments including drilling, completions, engineering, production, marketing and midstream.
- Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least five (5) years of experience working for an oil & gas company or consultancy with a preference of focus on Reservoir/A&D.
- Must have a strong interest in corporate finance.
- A high aptitude, high degree of intellectual curiosity and extreme attention to detail are key attributes.
- Self-starter with the ability to think strategically and interpret and analyze input data needed to accurately forecast future Seneca performance.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong interest in understanding the roles and information provided by different departments within a large independent producer.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exposure to corporate finance and financial modeling.
The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
